Oranges In August
I gaze upon you
Your figure reclining gently in the soft kiss of August sunlight
“I love the light" you murmur
The shadows dancing upon your curves
The fluttering movement of your chest
All like a painting
You tenderly caress the amber fruit
Delicately peeling it...
Meditatively...
My beautiful philosopher with his orange in the August sunlight.
In perfect halves you give one to me as you swallow the other
Images of woodland springs dance through my head
Sweet, fresh and tender
Just like you
And your orange
Blessed in August sun.
