Carrboro, NC: Day 3
Day 3: Entry 1: Day 1
Sorry I didn’t write yesterday. So much has happened and it has been hard to find time. Following advice, I went to check on my roommate about five hours after I last wrote. That was a bad idea. Glad I brought the bat… I just… don’t know how much I’ve changed now. It has only been a few days, but I bashed in my roommate’s skull with a baseball bat before she could bite me. Sure, she was undead… but does that make her less than human? I never thought that it would be this difficult just dealing with the killing. It is. For me at least, I don’t know about y’all who are reading this, but for me it was tough. The first one, at least. Dumped the body out of our second floor window, but it was messy, and in this heat and humidity it stunk like shit.
Looked out my window and it seemed like there weren’t any others walking around near my apartment so I decided to take a walk to find wood to board up my windows and weapons to protect myself. My baseball bat had taken a beating and I knew it wouldn’t hold out forever. As I turned a corner, my jeans ripped on a fence and my leg was cut a little. I started to bleed. It was minor at worst, but proved to be a nuisance. While boarding up my windows, I saw a Z come over to that fence and begin licking up my blood as if it knew it came from a viable food source. It followed the trail. I immediately deadbolted the door and finished boarding up every window. I’ve been hiding in a locked room since, just now thinking to write this.
I can hear them. There’s at least three, judging by the locations of sound, but for all I know there could be ten. Is anyone out there?
