Just played a match where one player didn't move the entire 20 min game. Pretty sure this person was just letting us grab event points that would apply to them.
This is bad behavior since it forces us to quit out or fight 2v3s.
Should I have gone back to spawn to kill the afk player after a few minutes? Would they even care, or still get the points and lose a free hunter?

As mentioned in the other thread that OneFunnyFart linked, get them killed with AI, then burn them. If they're just dead, they still get all the points.
Obviously give them a chance to let them start moving, but if it's clear they're just leeching, get rid of them.

That doesn't stop them from earning event points.
You have to burn them to do that, according to others.
Its annoying, but theres a 3-4 afk window imo. 20? Dude needs a nice TK
Do not spawn kill afk point farmers. You'll be banned.
Instead, aggro some nearby AI and run back to spawn with them following you. Crouch with the afker between you and the AI and the AI will kill them.
Enjoy the tactic and hope you have better partners in the future.
If you're on console it's most likely that your mate was stuck at spawn and couldn't move.
Na I play console and PC it's the same in hotb systems but sometimes on console it is just a tec issue, rarly though.

Yeah if you're on old gen you can get stuck at spawn and be unable to move for a random amount of time , once i was able to move 30min after the game started. Usually it's only 30sec / a couple minutes but it's definitely not rare that i get stuck for 10-15min.
It could be someone going afk on purpose to let you farm event points for him but idk it seems like a weird strategy to me.
This is the main reason I don't play with randoms even when there isn't an event. I've had so many randoms just stay at spawn and farm XP pretty much. Because I get down and the other dude get down and they just had for extract after staying at the spawn for 20 minutes
I've literally never had this happen before. On console at low 5*
I play PS4 between high3 to low 5*. I haven't played with randoms in over 3 or 4 months. Because most of them either TK, grief, or XP farm
Makes sense that it's at lower star levels. My experience is generally good with randos.
Not all but I'd say half the randoms I've played with.
I seriously doubt anyone is farming XP in this manner. They probably just stepped away while in queue. (Same outcome though)

I'm still not gonna go fight 2v3 but i will definitely donate some time and a hellfire bomb to punishing this leeching behavior
Just guide an immo over to them and it won't effect your K/D and it won't be recorded as a TK 👌🏽
