People are suggesting that every hour only has about 40-45 minutes now. That has been the general experience that many of us have been having with time speeding up.

While I myself can't put so fine a number on it, I can say with certainty that a single "leap second" being introduced does not explain anything. This article seems like an intentional misdirection.

13
CaseheadOP•

I definitely agree with you about time being sped up a lot more than a leap second. The idea That the article might be an intentional misdirection hadn’t occurred to me, it well could be. I just found it interesting that the earth spin was increasing in speed at the same time that time itself seems to be wonky.

You might find interesting that the Bible speaks about the days being shortened by a third of it in the last days. It sure feels like it compared as to olden pre-clone war covid era

5
CaseheadOP•

It really does seem that way

ps. Lol@ pre-clone war

Will 1.59 MILLISECONDS in a whole day account for my sense of timing speeding up? I'd say nopety nope nopes. MOre likely I think we are seeing another example of media coopting search engine traffic for specific search terms so that people get directed to this kind of article instead of other kinds of articles.

11
CaseheadOP•

You’re the second person to mention this article possibly being a misdirection, and I hadn’t thought of that angle, but it is certainly plausible. And I totes agree, it’s surely more than 1.59 ms faster, like a lot more

In part it's because we've seen this before. Some years ago when we noticed the location of Australia seemed different on maps, there was a slew of articles saying that 'science' recently discovered australia was moving north. But if you read the article, it was like a few feet, not something you would actually notice if you looked at a map. But anyone googling 'Australia has moved' would get hundreds of those 'science' articles as their results. And there were a few other MEs that also had similar 'redirect' science articles issued, but I can't remember the subjects off hand.

THe tdlr is we've seen this kind of redirect article multiple times before though with bigger MEs.

This was literally posted yesterday (albeit a different article):

https://old.reddit.com/r/Retconned/comments/wdtsol/might_explain_why_the_days_seem_to_be_going_faster/

^^^^^

And I'm going to repost my exact same reply:

Someone posts one of these articles fairly regularly lately and the community response is always the same: leap seconds are imperceptible to human experience, and thus cannot begin to account for time-tested everyday tasks and commutes and cooking times now taking measurably longer by minutes.

Makes sense.

In your timeline the earth is stationary and doesn't rotate on it's axis or revolves around the sun? Are you a flat earth believer by chance?

I like how polite you are about your disagreement, that's why this sub is great.

No, you have fallen for the psyop.

Everything feels very stationary to me

Sadly the topic isn't available in my region but this reminded me of an article I read after a tsunami we had that apparently sped up the earth's rotation on its axis.

Is this related?

In my reality this occured probably in the past 7-15 years but not too sure.

Hope this helps.

4
Taalon1•

Major earthquakes can cause the rotational speed of the planet to change. This was clearly seen with the 2004 Sumatra quake. A severe tsunami was produced by that quake.

2

omg yes! I found it pretty amazing when I learned that the huge earthquake had effected the earth’s spin. Kinda blew my mind!

Explain why you cant count using one mississippi two mississippi anymore and i specifically remember the seconds ticking slower?

Surprised such a naysaying comment is allowed here.

6
OmniaVincitAm0r•

Dude I was just talking to my child about that. I told him “the time it takes to say Mississippi is about one second.. see, watch!” and pulled out my timer and the seconds were going way way faster than I was expecting.

6

Yeah it doesnt work anymore. Clocks run faster now.

3

The second thing is hard to pick up on. But I'll definitely say it seems like we're all aging much faster now.

People are starting to get old in their early 30s. Iirc, people didn't used to start getting old until 45 or later.

All of this seems to play in together.

I too have the sensation that hours pass by faster than they use to. I get home from work around 3:30 pm watch a bit of YouTube, watch a new episode of a show, and next thing I know it's already time for bed. But I think the cause has more to do with how our consciousness is perceiving time versus the actual dynamics of the solar system. I mean if we stop and actually measure time, 1 second is still going to be the same interval based upon the radiation decay of Cesium 133 that science has previously established.

3
CaseheadOP•

Yup, I think you’re prob right about the consciousness aspect of it. But holy cow is time just too dang fast these days

Earth doesnt spin (thats another rabbit hole) but yes the day night cycle is quicker than it used to be.

This is end times prophecy from Jesus Christ. In the end the days shall be shortened. Days are shorter now. Those who remember the way it used to be will know its true.

1†
Falken--•

Yeah but if we are going to quote the prophecy, we should really quote the whole prophecy.

The days will be shortened else no flesh would survive. This is being done for the sake of the elect.

Survive what though? Nothing is happening right now that would kill us if 60 minutes was still 60 minutes. This shortening has been going on since at least the early to mid 2010's.

5
dontcallmefatm8•

A lot of people are gonna be hunted down like dogs. People rejecting this new world. Seeds of hate are planted, watch them grow into a demonic persecution of regular people.

2†
Falken--•

Fine, but in the next 5 years? 10 years? Heck, the next 20?

The shortening of the days is supposed to happen right before the end times kick off. Nobody is going to be hunted down like dogs in either the West or Asia anytime soon. Things just aren't even close to being that bad yet, and I am fully well aware that things have gotten pretty bad.

3
dontcallmefatm8•

It’s already the case. I’m unvaccinated in Morocco and can’t renew my papers without 3 doses, I’m forbidden from working and can’t also do my wife’s papers.

I’m getting less and less affected by this but if this isn’t already some form of persecution idk what is.

Am I missing something? This article is about rental scams. Hey OP, you wanna spell it out on how this is related to what you wrote at all?

Did you make a mistake with that link?

1
CaseheadOP•

Ok, I fixed the link! Sorry about that. Thank you for telling me I messed it up

4

Oh ok lol. I was so confused I read that twice!

3
OpheliaBlue1974•

Well lucky you, now you won't fall for a rental scam!!!

2

Right! Lol

1
CaseheadOP•

Oh shit, I sure did! Sorry. I’ll fix it!

3

1.5 milliseconds or so. Nothing anyone will notice.

0†
2-022•

Still, why is it spinning faster? How is that possible

2
fleece19900•

Melting ice -> lower moment of inertia (water goes from thousands of feet high to sea level) -> faster spin. Like when you reach your hands out and bring them in while spinning on something.
