Retconned: Mandela Effect, Berenstein Bears & Other Dilemnas

r/Retconned

A public sub for those experiencing the phenomenon of the Retcon Effect, or Real-Life Retroactive Continuity, sometimes known as the Mandela Effect. This sub is meant to be a place to discuss the effect under the presupposition that for whatever reason, *it is really happening,* at the exclusion of the theory of Confabulation. Retconned : Mandela Effect, Berenstein Bears & Other Dilemnas

WELCOME, NEWCOMERS!

REPORT TROLLS HERE

r/Retconned is a public sub for discussion of the Retcon Effect under the presupposition that for whatever reason, it is really happening, at the exclusion of the theory of Confabulation or "it's always been that way", "you remembered it incorrectly", "you were taught wrong when you were growing up", "surely mapping technology has gotten better by now", "logos change over time" or even "it's a very common mix-up/misconception".

Reports of micro-effects, or personal-reality-breaking experiences, are welcomed.

Retconned Rules of Engagement:

Rule#	Description
1	No Name calling
2	No Down Voting (All Down votes will be automatically Upvoted to Zero by the Mods)
3	No telling people they have memory or mental problems.
4	You may discuss confabulation only in a separate thread for that purpose.
Confabulation Thread
All other theories may be discussed, in a polite and respectful manner.
5	No Trolling.
6	Be polite and respectful of all people posting. If you disagree with them or think that their idea is absurd, you are still required to be kind to them. DO NOT TELL ANYONE THEY ARE WRONG ABOUT WHAT THEY REMEMBER.
7	Do not tell anyone that any theory they propose is wrong, stupid, or impossible. You may discuss alternate possibilities but you must be nice to people.
8	You must not slander other users in the forum in any way.
9	Do not dismiss other people's memories or experiences just because it doesn't match YOURS or you don't agree with it.
10	This is NOT r/Politics. There will be NO discussion of politics regardless of your leanings. [Mentioning a politicians name if required for discussing an ME is fine (for example the famous Hillary name spelling change flipflop), but keep it neutral, there should be no indication of political leanings in your post please]
11	Posts should be at least somewhat related to the Mandela Effect. If the relationship is not understood by the mods nor explained decently in the post, your post may be removed. (however comments on posts may wander from the subject naturally as long as they follow our other rules)

Final Note :

Please be advised that this sub is designed for experiencers/believers in the ME. If you seem to be posting here with the intent to consistently and exclusively deny the ME or have a history of doing so in other ME social media locations, you may be asked to leave. Contributing to this subreddit requires decorum, tact and diplomacy even in regard to ideas, theories, or MEs that you may not personally agree with.

If you come here with the sole purpose of mocking our members and/or cross-posting our threads to be mocked by others, your post will be removed without warning AND YOU WILL BE BANNED.

Just because you don't agree with or understand the topic found in this subreddit doesn't give you the right to disrespect its members.

TL;DR - Toxic, negative behavior WILL get you banned here, so check the attitude at the door and behave.

Be kind or take a hike.
