a Question regarding the Slayer form

BG2EE

I never got it in spellhold. Turned into it as per the scripted events fighting bodhi, then again soon after once I took a nap. I got the dream sequence as well, but i never got the ability to turn into the slayer at will.

Do i need this in the rest of the bg2ee SoA campaign or can i just play without it till throne of bhaal? Is there a way in game short of eekeeper that i've never used or console commands, that i've also never used, to enable the slayer form?

I'm currently already out of underdark hunting bodhi again. I'm worried that not having the form will break something later. There was already a door in the mind flayer place that would have opened with the slayer form, but I could by pass that by mind controlling a flayer.

edit: forgot to mention that i have one mod installed: the PPE portrait mod. but as far as i'm aware, it does not affect gameplay in any way.

If you are playing a 'good' party/character, the correct thing to do is never use slayer form ever again. The slayer is a manifestation of the growing taint within you. The good Charname resists.

If you're playing an 'evil' party/character the choice to use the slayer form is up to you. You can give in to the taint, and use the somewhat powerful slayer form to help you on your adventures, or you can remain your own person and resist it. The evil Charname has a choice here at least.

If you're playing a 'meta' party/character you will use the slayer form to help with your min-maxing. Every time you use the slayer form you take a 2 point hit to your reputation. This is hands down the easiest way to control your reputation if you're trying to do something like keep it under 18 so Edwin does not leave your good party. The meta Charname already has zero wisdom because s/he is min-maxed, and will use anything and everything to achieve their power gaming goals of ultimate power.

All of these are personal role-playing choices you make - nothing in the game requires or even encourages you to use the slayer form ever again. In fact..... I don't recall it ever being mentioned again?

yeah this was the thing that i was after, i've an evil party. Ofc i can always just murder a beggar or something so it will probably not be a problem. It's not a meta party by any means, while i don't RP, i still want to keep similar aligned people in the group, with the exception of HD who is chaotic neutral.

Anyway, quick googling suggested that once i go into ToB, the slayer form should be there again. Remains to be seen, all these bugs are just discouraging. Had to jump through hoops to finish Dorns quests due to bugs all around and i don't even like the guy. can't wait to replace him with sarevok

Sarevok 2.0 is a solid choice, and one of my favorite characters in the whole story.

I always want to redeem him, but Minsc has stuck with me since Nashkel. It's hard to give him up. Unless playing evil, then he was never there, but the desire to redeem Sarevok is also gone.

Yep, you can just kill a beggar, but the reputation loss is bigger. Slayer form allows you to take a lower hit to your reputation so you can still keep decent store prices for buying and selling while working to keep all the evil folks in your party too. That's pretty much the only thing you are missing.

You dont need slayer-form to complete the game.

Make sure your mod is up to date. The game was patched less than a year ago.
