Tried to make a copy-cat of my favorite smoothie from a local vegan place.

i like that you name your smoothies 😂
also, i love the cup! where’d you get it?
That was the name of the smoothie at my favorite smoothie place 😂 I suppose they called it clean because there's no banana.
Honestly! The glass was a Christmas gift from my bestie. Idk if this is the exact one but it looks very similar. https://www.amazon.com/Glasses-Insulated-Espresso-Personal-Birthday/dp/B07ZFC7K3F
thank you!!
My favorite smoothie place is too expensive for me to go as often as I want to, so I finally bought my own blender this week! I went in blind w/o a real recipe to see how well I'd do. This smoothie is called the clean green.
I think I added too much kale because it's not as refreshing as theirs. Mine turned out pretty bitter and I used more of my frozen mango than I wanted to in order to tone the bitterness down. Not a terrible first try!
I wanna know the recipe once you nail it :P
I'll let you know!! Someone commented that my biggest problem was that I didn't use baby kale, I bought a bag of misc chopped kale. I also wasn't 100% on how many chlorella tablets to use because I didn't find a loose powder, so I used 4.
It may not solve the entire bitterness problem, but I find baby kale is less bitter than adult/full size/normal kale. Also sometimes the tiniest pinch of salt and a splash of maple syrup (or other preferred sweetener) can also help cut the bitterness.
ooo I'll try adding some salt next time! I just bought a bag of chopped kale so that was probably my biggest mistake. And I didn't measure, I just grapped a packed fist full.
Yeah teeny tiny pinch and add a splash of sweetener and it makes a world of difference! I’m not sure why the salt part works exactly, but like it makes fruit taste sweeter and…fruitier?
I know that's true for watermelon, I never thought about doing the same for other fruits. Thank you for your tips!!
The celery is not gonna be helping the flavour either
I absolutely LOVE celery so I'm not to worried about that ingredient as much as the kale and maybe the chlorella.
