Poem

The world remained whole but in an instant, it shattered

A broken mold holding together pieces of what’s been battered

As each man and woman lie together, hearts skipping beats

A wave of wind and a cloud as our nation bleeds

For what good reason shall we pay the price

Is there not one? What a waste of life

We scream loyalty and become blind to who our enemy is really

He remains in our homes, our schools, we scream his name freely

Not from a god but a man. One brilliant invention

We praise a destroyer of worlds should we ask not his intention

He who becomes death surely would know of what it looks like

The men whose eyes were tainted by the sight of a mushroom

The same men send us to fight their war is such doom

We share but a small corner of the universe

Here we remain arguing over what was whose first

Sky tinted yellow, the wind billows, the one percent becomes the mass

We sleep in the bed that they made for us as we become food for grass

The rain burns our skin, the land turns shrouded

Our eyes close and heaven is soon to be overcrowded

Short piece about something I don't understand- War.
