Well, Canada isn't exactly known for walkable infrastructure, so cut him some slack.

As someone who moved from an unwalkable city to a walkable one, this is definitely a real thing. It's crazy what it does to your mental to barely be able to move around without waiting at 77 pedestrian crossings to walk half a mile.

Yeah, Japan is an interesting country for those who like to walk. They sure do have proper roads, but then Japan sort of managed to remain very walkable, but also have cars too. Unlike other countries with tiny streets, mopeds aren't exactly very popular in Japan. They do exist, but they aren't liek half of whole motor vehicles like in some southern European countries. And then Japan has some of the most gorgeous paths on planet, sometimes in cities, sometimes in country. So it might not be the most walkable country on planet, but it's decent at that. Say what you want, but Shinkansen was a a massive success that helped Japan to remain walkable and making cars a luxury, rather than necessity. It's like a tram, it goes almost everywhere you need, but is fast, safe and carries a lot of people. In Europe trains are mostly for travelling between cities and towns and you need a bus afterwards, but in Japan, Shinkansen just does it all. That's really nice.

Is that trolling or something? "Shinkansen [...] it's like a tram, it goes almost everywhere you need, but is fast, safe and carries a lot of people. In Europe trains are mostly for travelling between cities and towns and you need a bus afterwards, but in Japan, Shinkansen just does it all. That's really nice."

Have you ever traveled with one?

Yeah you just hop on and hop off the Shinkansen at your leisure

It'll slow down from 300km/h to pick you up all gooood... stops on a dime yo.

Nah, but that's the impression I get and people use it to commute to work and only it.

That’s true. Wouldn’t want to get mauled by a moose or something.

Wouldn't they ask for your permission first? I mean it's Canada, the land of sorry.

You know I’ve changed as well. I have levels of vitriol towards weebs that I never knew were possible. In my home country (not Canada) I barely paid them any mind.
