I speed ran the entire Hildibrand questline to see how long it takes

[Discussion]

Well, not an actual speed run but skipping and spam clicking through everything.

I've already done and enjoyed the Hildibrand questline but am levelling a character in another region, so since I saw comments after the relic weapon announcement talking about how long it takes to get through the quest if all you care about is completion I figured it was a good chance to get an actual timing. Here you go:

0:00: Start ARR
0:01: Reached the FATE that you have to do at the start of the questline
0:17: Started FATE (I sat around doing other stuff waiting for it to pop, could probably have actually cleared out other FATES to make this faster)
0:45: Battle on the Big Bridge unlocked, ran it unsynced. It's actually kind of fun to do solo with how wild the fight is.
1:18: Dragon's Neck unlocked, ran it unsynced.
1:37: Battle in the Big Keep unlocked, ran it unsynced.
1:42: ARR Hildibrand complete.

0:00: Start HW
0:33: HW Hildibrand complete

0:00: Start SB
0:30: Kugane Ohashi unlocked, tank queue helped me get instant pop.
0:55: SB Hildibrand complete

So there you have it. If you're starting from scratch and just want to blow through it to reach the Endwalker questline for the relic you're looking at a little over 3 hours. This also gets you 4 new trials and minions/cards/bardings for any collectors out there. ARR took longer than I thought it would, but then the HW one flew by. Having flying in the ARR zones helped a ton as well.

This doesn't have the recent Endwalker quests because my newer character isn't at it yet, but since it just had the first installment of the quests I'd expect maybe 10 minutes.

Also a funny thing I found doing this is that the Hildibrand logo covers over the "Skip cutscene" confirmation at the end of each ARR questline. Not sure if it was intentional since it didn't happen with HW or SB but it seemed in character.

You can do the FATE step faster by simply sniping other FATEs until it pops. Unless it has another restriction I’m not aware of.

Nah you're right, I probably could've cut down the 16 minute wait time but it was late at night and I was happier just watching youtube instead of actually doing work clearing out FATES.

If skipping cutscenes, not even that unless the zone you're going to is congested. Which CAN happen in theory if David's fate pops or there's a hunt train, but otherwise no. I think with cutscenes it was about half an hour.

And I agree on Big Bridge solo. It can be a BIT annoying when you get toad'd, but it's still a wild ride.

I also will say that you can solo the Stormblood Hildibrand trial on Dark Knight. I had ilvl 600 gear though so it may not be possible if you don't have bis gear.

It is....very challenging if you don't have bis gear.

You can unsync with a dps friend and it'll go down really fast. Solo I failed cause of the dorito mech. With two dps the fight melted.
