ah. A fellow man who knows the pain of saying they'll have a drink or two and going overboard. Blacking out and waking up with things in your call logs you can't recall, and people to apologize too. Not the most complicated lyricism, but it sounds at least like you lived through it. It's not some cringe PSA song about the dangers of alcohol. I also like how saying again over and over, indicating it's an ongoing issue. It falls flat with such an upbeat chord progression though. A version with darker chords would be great to hear. A more somber voice too. There's a time and a place for an upbeat instrumental with dark lyrics, like Lilly Allen's "LDN", but this is not the time my guy. Keep writing and singing!

i really love the whole thing the chords and the lyrics add a contrast that atleast to me make me feel as though you seem like your fine but your really struggling and the only real critique i have is the lyric “but it’s all pretend” when you drop your voice down i think staying in the same register as the rest of it would work better! that’s all i really had to say it’s really good and you have some amazing lyricism
Nice lyric structure
Great song! I think the darker lyrics with the chords you chose work well together. If the chords were darker, I think it would still be good. But I personally like the contrast
I promised just one,
but it turned into ten…
How did I get here again?
How did I get here…
I thought we had fun,
but it’s all just pretend
Looks like we met here again.
How did I get here?
I thought I was over that hill…
I thought I was over the hill
but I’m still looking out.
Oh god, I would kill to get out .
Oh god I would kill…
Don’t know who I rung
or what friendships to mend
Looks like I slept here again?
How did I get here?
The damage is done;
no more sorry’s to send.
Looks like a mess here again.
How do I get here?
I thought I was over that hill.
I thought I was over the hill
but I’m still looking out...
Oh god, I would kill to get out.
Oh god I would kill
the part of me at the wheel;
the part that just can’t sit still
the part that fears something real.
I could do better.
I should do better.
There’s plenty to do
without playing the fool...
I could do better.
I should de better and
kill...
the part of me at the wheel;
the part that just can’t sit still
the part that fears something real.
I promised just one,
but it turned into ten…
How did I get here again?
How did I get here…
