I think it would be better if the style was more consistent, but I have to say I love the cover of "The Lady of the Lake".
What's funny is nobody wants the books that have the Netflix logo on them, which is skyrocketing the price of the originals. People are even making money selling stickers on Etsy that are made specifically for these books so people can cover up the Netflix logo.
When your TV adaptation is that bad... 😂
Promo stickers on covers are never wanted, regardless of what they advertise. Not by people who care about cover art in the first place.
This. As a reader I just don't want tie-in covers when I could have original art.
That has nothing to do with how good or bad the tv adaptation is? It has to do with people wanting nice artsy covers that don’t have branding all over them.
I don't mind some of those covers (unless you mean the ones with pictures from the actual show, not the one with the various wolf symbols) but that damn logo man. If I wanted an out of place netflix logo I'd bloody draw it. And I'm fairly certain that anyone who has heard of the witcher, knows it's a netflix series anyway

I wasn't sure at first when I saw they were using different artists for each cover but these are gorgeous and really work well as a set. Might have to upgrade my copy to these-- they just match the stories better. (Currently have a copy of the UK black cover prints as I couldn't stand the US red covers)
PS-- I love the design on Lady of the Lake Ciri.
This looks great!
The first one looks like that meme of “what side are you” and shows crips and bloods 💀
They’re pretty and match the story content a lot better.
Orbit have been slowly announcing the new covers, and finished off with Lady of the Lake and Season of Storms today. They'll be released this Fall in the US, and Gollancz will be releasing them in the UK in early 2023 (source).
Some of the artists have posted textless versions and behind the scenes info.
They also have a set of paperbacks with different covers inspired by the Netflix show's logos, seen here
Edit: Added LotL
Thank you for sharing the textless/process links for the art!
