4th Time Appears to be the Charm for Me and the AW3423DW
It took me 4 tries, but I think I finally got an acceptable one with minimal bubble wrap damage, an acceptable amount of fan noise, and no dead pixels. It's a July 2022 build. It still has the 102 firmware. There have been 0 changes in the packaging since day 1 as far as I can tell.

This is probably why I don't mind as much waiting for my unit. The longer it takes, the less early adopter issues there will be hopefully.
It’s just luck of the draw really, my first unit is flawless aside from the fact that the monitor won’t be updatable.
Hope you're right. I'm getting mine in September.
That's a great perspective.
I don't like that as the longer the wait the longer tech depreciates in value. Something new and better will arrive, usually the monitor market is slow, but this time around it is speeding up dramatically in compairson.
That's the nature of tech right? I get that thought as well from time to time, but there is always something better in the far or near future. There is no such thing as futureproofing in my book.
After this monitor arrives there might be a 27 inch 240 hz 1440p or 4k OLED in the near future, oh well. By the time it dies or burns in after the warrenty, I can get a kick ass cheaper OLED that far surpasses this monitor.
It's kind of like how I was using a 980 ti for a long time and I replaced it with a 3080 at launch. It was a huge upgrade. I'll just do that with monitors as well.
I didn't suggest future proofing, there is just a lot going on in the monitor space compared to the last decade. Depending on how long your unit takes, it may be better to wait for the first time. but hey if your monitor is in shambles, as in that old, go for it. I think for gaming it can't be beat, and won't be beat unless a perfect fald monitor comes out, or a QD oled with better hdr window %'s
it's like going from 7x series to 30 series for GPU'S, this isn't your typical minor upgrade.
lol i just saw you used a gpu compairson before I finished what I wrote.
I own the aw3423dw, its amazing, but for work I prefer a 4k 32 monitor or better for ppi
I will be selling this if i a 4k 32 inch QD oled comes out
