Fractals

Poem

I picture us, fractals, split from the same

unknowable face and projected into its own

bottomless womb. This process uncurls

flickers of its countenance, wry and saw-toothed,

but the eyes remain cloaked. Are we as guilty

as our progenitor who formed you and I

with greater likeness than the rest,

so that together, our feathery edges meld,

and apart, they fray as they brush against

sharper elbows.
