This is really good! I love how throughout the whole thing, the word 'I' is used to make it feel more personal, which is subverted when it says 'I love the broken you'. It makes the whole poem feel like an intimate experience from two imperfect people.

Thank you for your kind words! The idea for the poem came when I was listening to someone talk about how the people we seek are the people that let us be the real us, be it friends or lovers. Someone that we can show all our faults to, and that lets us see all of their faults.

Very nicely done, especially the end.  The whole time I read it, I was thinking that it was about searching for someone to help fix yourself, but it's so much better in that you recognize that you're broken, and that it's ok.  I love the idea of looking for acceptance from someone who is similarly broken - it's ok, as you say.

I am on a search

-and aren‘t we all -

to find not myself

but who‘s closest to me

I dont want to know

my own dirty soul

instead show me yours

and I‘ll make it ours
