This is such a humorous poem about that specific pseudo-masculine opinionated men (“Bukowski,” “strong belief) who are always on social media fighting with others (“Reddit”). They thought they were know-it-alls (“cryptocurrency,” “steak”), especially with women (“sexual market,”), and good observers of life (“only one looking”) but they are so crude that everyone despises them. I’m not sure if this poem is actually about incels, or we now need another term to refer to this specific breed of men online, who might be from a slightly older age group (“engineering degree”). :) Funny poem. I like it.

I've certainly met a lot of men like this IRL, some on Reddit too. thankfully, for me, I haven't met too many like these. your poem spoke strongly of the feeling though, the feeling I'm sure many share.

you loathe stereotypes  
but you are one

reddit user  
with a hard-on for Bukowski  
an engineering degree  
and a strong belief  
that nothing in life should be free

you think you're the only one looking  
at all those around you  
but you're just the least subtle

no one is impressed  
by your strong opinions  
on cryptocurrency,  
sexual market value,  
or how to cook a steak

you think you're Atlas shrugging  
but I think  
you'll carry that weight.
