Before Your Eyes
The warmth within the confines of your bosom
Could only last for so long
The illusion of everlasting time
The detachment of the stem
I needed to breathe
But at times a plant needs to reconnect with its roots
For it to grow again.
You witnessed me at my most pure
When I radiated innocence
Cradle my guilty frame I depend on you now as much as I did then.
My temple’s been tampered with
And it was all my doing
My unraveling under your nose
I stand before you naked and vulnerable Just as when I arrived.
From the sanctuary of the womb,
To the confines of the tomb;
I’m yours.
Nurture me like when I first landed
And this planet was all but a dream
Indistinguishable from reality.
