I Thought About Killing Myself Today

I thought about killing myself today,

Not in some grandiose way,

Like those portrayed in movies,

Not in some act of revenge or great sadness,

I felt nothing other than loneliness

I thought about killing myself today,

On a walk I took for my mental health,

Ironic as it sounds,

I felt as if there was no other way,

That life had lost its meaning

I thought about killing myself today,

And it wasn't a sad thought,

I held comfort knowing I'd be gone,

Rid of the day-to-day,

The mundane

I thought about killing myself today

And I don't know if I made the right call
