SUICIDE
Mourn not my memory,
Nor spit at my twisted corpse,
This,hide from by miography,
Lest men curse my dangling corpse;
For I lived and never lived,
Dreading death, yet dying daily,
From sorrow, from pain, from regret’s wound;
This dark and lonely valley.
But I see light at yonder gate,
O sweet relieve, away from life’s curse,
To yon Reaper’s keep, away! This calm gale,
Now I smile as I stare at this blessed noose.
Tell my boys anything, never that I fled,
As that lying sod, that devil’s Sun!
Teach them to live his name cursing like a plague,
Robber Tcursed may his name!
Think me not a coward,
For in this my greatest strength,
For I lived yet me, life did avoid,
My tears and blood a repulsive stench,
Cold and alone I shrank in shadows,
Oh! My two moors of shining light,
What battle against the deathly hallows,
For a time, my wrongs they masked as righteous rags.
But alas! Alas! Worse than death this regret,
Now life and death both heads of my coin,
Forever and now, flickers to sorrow so great,
So long! Mourn not my shining ones.
