Short, sweet, to the point, and why does it need to be anything more. I think the phrase: "Love is blind," works really well here. No matter how awful a person is, your love will be there. You can hate them, scream at them, and even block them on every social media but if they meant nothing to you, why would you care enough to do all that? Love is love and like the poem says, it makes you look like a fool.

Beautiful poem, a tale old as time itself that yet will resonate with us forever.

I hate myself for loving you

It’s old and cliched, 

But it’s still true.

In the mirror I still see

The face of a fool

Staring back at me.
