we were a raindrop

we were a raindrop, falling

through the open sky,

in a long, hopeful embrace,

with neither barrier nor boundary.

but we came back to this earth,

and in an instant, split

in a reverberating wave,

quickly forgotten.

​

I sense that I am not alone, now.

I am but a drop in this silent sea.
