She smelled of the warmest life
What are your interpretations of the subject of this poem? Who is it to? I want to see how you guys read into it.
There is a grave
Down by the pond
Dug for her body
As she passes on
And to give her comfort
When the night gets cold
Because she passed
Due to growing old
I wish I had her favorite things
Left in my room
So when I miss her
By the afternoon
I have something to hold close
As I look out the window
when I wish that
She had never grown old
I wish I could smell her scent
As if she was here
But I realize
She'll never again be near
Oh if only
We had met just a little before
Maybe this pain
Wouldn't last much more
I miss the sound
That she would make
When she would wake me up
Perhaps by mistake
And then as an apology
She would give me a kiss
And then my world
Would turn to bliss
I miss her
It's no lie
Sometimes when I think about her
All I can do is cry
But I remember
Just how great
Her life was
Before life's mistake
And I thank our
Dear mother nature
For the life
That she gave her
But I won't pretend
That what killed her
Wasn't her very own
Forsworn creator
She was taken from me
Far too soon
It feels like she's out of grasp
Like I'm reaching for the moon
I wish I held her
Just one more time
Before death
Called her "mine"
