How/why did the Zenins agree to Gojo taking Megumi?

I also think that Gojo bribed them with a lot of money too. He's not just the most intimidating sorcerer for his power, he's also filthy rich.

i always imagined gojo’s wealth is generational, in which case wouldn’t the Zenins have generally the same amount of money?

I think so too, but has already having money ever stopped rich people to wanting more? My guess is that to keep Megumi out of the Zenins' reach Gojo didn't just flaunt his superiority as a sorcerer... He probably paid the Zenins' a huge sum as well, to compensate the family for the loss of a potential asset.

Special grade sorcerers also receive a much higher pay then grade 1 and below and are also salary based instead of by mission. So he and Yuta and yuki all receive a lot of money which is why they call yuki a bum since she just takes the money but not missions

Gojo is basically sorcerer Jesus with a shit ton of money, there's not a lot of room to disagree with someone like that.

He did it how ever you headcanon him doing it. Anything relating to the clans or higher ups should just be handwaved away and not thought that hard about to be honest with you. Gege doesnt ever really iron out how they function or give them any deep motivations. So it should be accepted that they're just shadowy people who sometimes antagonize the main cast because "something something power something something traditionalists".
I mean keep in mind that Kenjaku is currently in the body of a wanted terrorist but is somehow also taking control over the Kamo clan (through what's implied to be mind control?)and is able to eliminate higher ups who interfere with his plans even though its established whole reason Gojo couldnt do that because they'd just be replaced. Or when one the historical Big 3 clans is wiped out, the other two are just like "Oh...guess we should vote them out huh?". The minutia of the politics of the world just isnt Gege's focus.

Gojo probably just took him. Because at the end of the day what are they gonna do? Try and fight him? Gojo had just single-handedly killed the man they all knew could eradicate their entire clan.

most of the zenin we’ve met seems more willing to die than to just go along with something like that. that’s why i feel like it must be more than just being afraid.
From the dialogue when maki killed the zenin clan someone said the clan still existed because of tojis whim. I think they knew that someone stronger than toji (gojo) could easily wipe them out lol
