Well I mean sometimes you get escape pods, you can snipe those. Or plaster it on your windshield.. a satisfying thunk as the pirate pod disappears from the contacts.

No no, the correct thing to do for those is to position yourself right next to those, turn the ship quickly upwards and watch as you paddle slam the escape pod and see it dissappear towards the sun. Piracy can be hot

You may enjoy Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. It has a mechanic where sometimes a bounty will eject from their ship once it's destroyed. You can scoop them up for extra rewards, shoot them, or plow through them.

Wow, haven't seen that for a while, I think that concept art is 8 or 9 years old at this point.
It would be nice to see this but also I think it might change the age rating on the game if they allow you to see potentially dead bodies floating in space, and especially if you are able to splat them :P

This is it, the Pegi 7 age rating really crippled Elite early on, with Odyssey maybe we'll see unconscious NPCs in space outside of escape pods but very unlikely

Odyssey already has dead people out on the surface at POIs, like the broken down srv one.

I've read that this is the major blockage in getting the two to instance, as well. It makes sense to me on a technicality, idk what the process would look like to retroactively change or increase the rating, probably a lot of headaches which is why it's not been done would be my best guess.
I really wish they could just be honest and forthcoming with these details, but I guess I understand as an investor owned company they can't let bad news slip lest it impact the stock price.

The main issue is that retroactively adding in content that changes the rating of Horizons opens them up to massive lawsuits. Horizons is fine until you’re in an SRV and see an Odyssey player massacre a settlement NPC’s with small arms.

I'm not sure why that's a problem. Who cares if the rating changes. A large chunk of the playerbase is 18+ kids usually don't like this type of game anyway.

Being able to do EVA activity in space would be pretty cool, as would the ability to board installations and ships in space (think of CZs focused around installations, where there's a combined battle with ships fighting outside and infantry fighting inside; supremacy of space around the installation would determine how many reinforcements a side gets, and control of the installation itself would be the objective).

They’re gonna have to add a new specialist slot to every ship, except instead of being exclusively for platetery approach suite, it’s for windshield wiper limpet controllers

I WISH they would add that actually. Windshield wipers would be so cool and useful.
Keybind LAlt+X already makes you wipe your character’s helmet visor clear of water droplets and frost in SC, would be cool if some ships had that function as well, especially since some cockpits are ‘well lit’ which causes poor visibility when the canopy has water droplets on it.
Either that, or have shields repel rain when they’re up, unless rain is considered ‘too slow’ for it to block.
