Calm before the storm

The day has started

It warms the skin with kiss

New light yet to fade to old

The day bestows music of plenty

harmony that holds life in a single beat

vibrant and astute the magic

Delaying cold that night brings

For a moment you forget

The troubles that flirt on the fringe

Soon you cannot deny

The pain that will begin to creep

prepare for war that will come

And ready yourself with crutch

For the stain that will cover all

You grip tight for storm

​

You have to focus mind

This battle that will leave casualty

The heart will lie wounded

There is no doubt

But if you surface through smoke

The next day will come loud

Like all that passed before

The sand will pour like routine

To the next relentless war
