Tightlining pencil?

Is there a pencil that doesn't smudge off? I don't like to wear heavy eyeliner on my bottom lid but I love the way tightlining my top lid looks.

I've only tried two different pencils, one NYC which actually did better at staying put but made my vision blurry... and UD 24/7 which glides on great and then stays there for like 24.7 seconds before transferring to the bottom and staying there 24/7. It's so hard to get off my bottom lashes for some reason lol

I'm not great with liquids (although better now thanks to your tips) and my shaky hands scares me away from trying to put liquid liner so close to my eye.

One thing I find that helps is to tight line my lower lash with white - it makes your eyes look larger. Then I lightly tightline with black on my upper. I find it does help stop transfer. I use NYX liner, and I like it.

I just got the MUFE Aqua Eyes pencil, and it works pretty well. After you apply it, you've got a couple seconds to smudge it if you want. When it sets, it really stays put. I had it on for 16 hours in really humid weather, and it didn't budge. I'd really recommend it!

I actually use a brush and gel liner instead of a pencil, and have found that it works way better, and stays put longer.

Stila smudge stick is great. Stays on the water line really well. I use stingray which is black but they have other colors too if black is too harsh.

Are you using the NYC waterproof one? That's my day-to-day go-to! If you can get your hands on this smashbox pencil I'd advise it. It's kind of pricey, but I love it. I don't use it for daily wear so it lasts me a while. I also don't tightline all the time but I have never had an issue with this one. I wear contacts so I don't know if that has anything to do with eye moisture/transfer, just for reference. I also don't tightline the bottom with anything.

I know it's pricey but the best pencil I have come to find is the NARS Larger Than Life pencil. I have extremely oily lids and have found that this doesn't transfer and stays put really well. Only issue is it's a huge bitch to sharpen.

But for tightlining I prefer gel/cream liners. But if you are insistent on a pencil, try that one :)

Stila or Sephora brand waterproof eyeliners are great for doing this. They also come in a little twisty form which is easier than the pencil that you have to sharpen. My trick is holding my eye open for an extra 5 seconds to dry the liner before blinking... not sure if this actually helps.

I have that problem too, especially with elf pencil I just got. It goes on amazingly but it transfers instantly. I'll have to try the trick with white when I get a white pencil haha.

I use a white pencil on the bottom. Black > White. It doesn't even mix and turn to gray. The black just lays right on top of it. =(

I'm sure it's all in the brands, I just don't have 194029 bazillion dollars to try them all.

I'd like to know an answer to this question as well. I just purchased the physicians formula shimmer strips kohl liner and it smudges and fades quickly. :(
