Depression (Not Seasonal)

Poem

Lately the days seem long and dark, it feels as if all colour has faded, and the joys of tomorrow no longer exist, the leaves I crunch under my feet no longer grant me the rush of ecstasy that I miss.

The weather gets more depressing as the wheel of time moves on, and I’m constantly reminded summer is gone, and the one with the hammer and nails holding this all together, flies back for their studies. Time for stress and fucking university.

Soon I’ll be bedridden, not because I’m sick (physically), but from a lack of care and euphoria. I lay here in the dark pondering when I’ll be greeted with joy once again. They tell me “there’s light at the end of the tunnel”, but this tunnel is painted black.

I’m left looking at a puddle beneath my feet. And the reflections looking back at me are a shell of who I used to be.
