Yeah, this is one of my worst fears in life. Having such high expectations in life and waking up one day and finding out it wasn't worth it.

Beautiful. Definitely sad and I think a lot of people can relate to this. Never wanting to settle, and then suddenly it’s too late.

I like the emotions expressed in the poem, which I find relatable. because I have always seen the love in movies as unrealistic. Also, the structure of the poem is nice, ending the same every other line. 

This line is the best to me:
"watching the love I now know never could be"
I have had the realization that I will never be in love like characters in fiction are in love, and it's sad, and this line is sad.

For me it's manage your expectations and question any standards set by Hollywood

The love we see in the movies are always perfect. Wether it be love at first sight, enemies to lovers, or just highschool sweet hearts. Those kinds of love every body dreams of, it's perfect and exciting. So most times we set high expectations not releasing what's infront of us. Not every gets to feel that love, sometimes picking the comfortable choice is okay as long as you're happy. At the end no one wants to be alone.

Great poem! I think you might could do more with the third stanza. Repeating stanzas have more effect in a longer poem where you can build patterns / have more room to expand on themes. Because this one is shorter, I think you don’t really need the repetition. (But I know basically nothing so take it as you will ;)

Tell me about it. You dream of this perfect life you see on social media. All the love, smiles, happy moments, but no one sees the struggle and effort put to get to those happy moments. No one thinks of the hours of arguments, days of pain, moments oh hurt, because such and such never argue on tiktok or idk what. Social media is messing everyone up, and until they realize it, it will keep getting worse. A perfect life doesn’t exist. Happy every minute doesn’t exist. A perfect relationship only exists in someone’s eyes. You have to find who’s perfect for you. You will have your ups and downs, but when you fight for it to make it better, you know it’s worth it. Unfortunately we can’t change the world. The people in power got full control and hungry for more.

That's so true. And for those still young, they dream of perfect love, a love they know deep done they may never get but yet still crave. This leads them to compare the people they do end up with which is not healthy at all.

I love it. Love can be hard to find, well the love you dream of can be hard to find. We don’t settle because we have time, and than all of a sudden, somehow, in a blink of an eye, it’s all gone. Too late to turn time back, too late to maybe give it a chance. Take the opportunity or risk losing it all

It was pathetic they said but nonetheless, I waited for a love that could be.
