The girl who spoke in touch.

Poem

We used to dance by the window

To every song we dared to sing,

Two kids at war with the asphalt,

We were bold enough to talk of dreams.

I was young and I was angry,

My fists were clenched,

You held my hand.

You told me that one day it’d be ok,

One day I could finally stand.

You were clean, and clear, and simple

But the wise wind to blow my sail.

Sometimes winds can turn to raindrops,

Some times that rain becomes a hail.

I’m so sorry you felt alone,

I wish I was there that evening,

I wish you’d stayed up with me a moment,

That’s the only dream I have worth dreaming.

Our friends said that you were always troubled,

But what the fuck do they think know?

When we used to dance by that window

I knew we both could call us home.

Some man in a black shirt and white collar,

He said everything thing happens for a reason,

The bastard wasn’t there to see us hungry.

What does he understand of hurt or bleeding.

I can look your sister in the eyes now,

We talk every week around five

She has off on Tuesday afternoons, Her life is going fine.

She tells me that it’s ok,

Nobody blames me, I was kind

But you can’t dance by that window,

Those songs we sang were never mine.

Please, don’t step away from me,

Please keep haunting all my dreams.

I’ll speak them clear as day to everyone,

They’ll know exactly what you mean.

We carry the burden of our comrades,

Not out of duty, but out of love.

Nobody should ever feel forgotten,

Everybody should know that they are loved.

Nobody should ever die,

Alone in a bedroom on a ceiling fan.
