It's been tough, I have a client facing role and have traveled recently presenting at lots of meetings. I'm in the ugly duckling phase which is making me super self conscious.

I don't have an answer as wearing a hat in the office is not acceptable for me. I've just tried to own it and act confident plus blocking out my thoughts as best as possible. I've seen people glance but trying to stay confident with myself has helped a little.

I am fortunate that the redness died down quickly so I don't think it's obvious I've had a transplant.

If you can take as much time off as possible and avoid as many interactions for a month to at least settle abit would be my recommendation.

Did you buzz it or is your hair longer and the hairs starting to come in

I did fade the sides and trying to grow out the top to cover the thinness. Still looks pretty terrible with the shedding.

I just shrugged it off.

I have a white collar job (work for a large commercial real estate company representing clients). I had one or two funny stares but I just let it roll off. Life is short, who cares what people think.

Clearly you do cuz you got a hair transplant lol (not that there’s anything wrong with that)

Not necessary. He could have done it for his own personal satisfaction

100% I did it for me. I feel so much better about myself and my appearance

Funny story. I am an attorney (public defender) in California. I have one client who is charged with murder. I have been his attorney for about a year. Last month I got my HT surgery and I saw my client a couple days ago. I was explaining some very bad news to him which involved new witnesses coming forward and forensic test results coming back that hurt our case. Anyways, I am talking to him about stuff that will impact the rest of his life and after about five minutes he interrupts me and says “What in the fuck happened to your head?!”

To answer your question though, I told all my colleagues, DAs, and judges that I am having the surgery in an attempt to eliminate awkward exchanges and looks. It has worked pretty well for the most part, I am now 5 weeks post surgery and I feel completely comfortable with my shaved head and patchy/shedding hair.

same question. I am looking for a hairline restoration and hoping I can cover it up by leaving the top of my head unshaved.

Only way is to have a partial shaved FUE where only the donor is shaved. You need to grow your hair a little longer on top so you can camouflage the transplanted area that will be red and very obvious for three to 4 months if you are white.

Do y’all have a different color to the area where your hair was implanted ? It’s not red, it’s like darker

I’ve been considering hats but I’m also interviewing and that’s rough with any hat. Might just have to chance to a short cut there

Buzz your head for 2-3 months pre-surgery at 2-3 guard. Find a way to stay out of the office for 2 weeks after the procedure (holidays). Keep your hair buzzed until 9-12 months when your hair fully comes in.
