I Saw My Girlfriend Today

I saw my girlfriend today

And gave her the biggest smile.

She looked as beautiful as ever

As if walking down the aisle.

I brought her favorite flowers

The ones that matched her yellow dress.

I travel quite far to see her

And my family thinks I'm a mess.

They said to stop come seeing her

But I still drive here every week.

It's what we promised each other -

A promise I'll forever keep.

When I left I started weeping

In secret for no one to see.

Because today when I saw my girlfriend

Her grave smiled back at me.
