Poem

climbing upward, dimly flickering in the midnight abyss of my bedroom,

gentle hints of lavender sweeping through the still air;

fresh linens, a meadow in full bloom at the foot of the bed.

kitchen, buzzing with the energy of two universes colliding;

flame steadily burning––statuesque––silently smothering the room with its subtle fragrance.

pyramus and thisbe, worlds apart.

silence––wistful and longing––save for bees softly humming in a drunken trance;

lying among dancing wildflowers, understanding, hatred.

a thin wisp––the soft, smoky scent of a conclusion long-expected.
