Metaphysical poem!
Addressing death itself:
My dearest death
How misunderstood each breath?
Men and mistress do tremble When in visions your reflection resembles.
Piety conjured from iniquitous past
So subscribed in Nirvana their title last
Such horror doth deform pretty porcelain masks
As whispers of friends or foe falling to your grasp
What apparition, I wonder, causes this overcast?
They do preach erroneous ramblings
Unbeknownst to thy harmonious slumber; gambling
Fate- fearing where reverence is owed
From thy generosity this limbo they borrowed
I see, sweet death, thy soothing symphony of song
For every mortal a berth; Whether they be righteous or wrong
Pitying our labour with thine eyes
Offering place in ether above skies
Relief and rest, but betrayed by thy guise
Sorrow not, oh forsaken death
For mere mortals unable to perceive thy breadth
Even their farthest, cavernous quarters
Could ne’er dream of thine heavenly waters
Imaginative faculties malfunction and sputter
If thy presence they once strive to colour
They curse thy name and slander thee
And pray from thy visit they shall be free
But one day, death, a friend they will be
