Door
(I am new to writing poetry so i would love your thoughts)
Why will you only speak behind closed doors? Why can you only speak what’s truly on your mind behind the security of a door and four walls? Does the door block out the truth? Does the wooden door painted white with silver knobs protect you? Without the barrier do you feel naked? Is the door your clothing, your skin? If that’s so then what are your bones? Are your bones the carpet? The wallpaper? The bed? The bed where you share so much of yourself with me, every inch of your skin i have learned. But i still can’t learn what’s under that short brunette hair? So much of your body i could trace on a piece of paper, but i don’t know what the inside of your skull beholds, and you will never share the contents with me.
