Boogeyman
Bill often scoffed at those who chose
to call themselves depressed.
He spent his days maligning the phrase,
instead of getting dressed.
And if at all able, he'd avoid the tired label,
that served little else beyond sealing one's own fate.
Though he couldn't help but notice, like the shadow of a lotus,
that there were some similarities between them as of late.
Still Bill refused to ever use,
the term he'd learned to dread,
and faced the shadows all alone
except for those beneath his bed.
