Writing Common App Essay about overcoming racism?

Let me Preface this by saying this is all PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

Ok so i’ve been dabbling with essay topics and I’ve kinda landed on this one. I’d write about the time I was rejected from my middle school ambassador program, despite having a perfect interview score and perfect grades. I’d write about how it was my first time paying the “Black Tax”, my theory of having to be exceptional as a black male in spaces where mediocrity is acceptable for white students. I’d intertwine all this into my involvement and drive in high school, and how when I went on to embrace the Black Tax and use it to my advantage.

Do you guys think this essay has any red flags or is too generic? Keep in mind i live in a small town in Alabama where mild racism is common
