A poem of mine
A beating song
Heavy, heavy my heart sits, waiting for a moment to breathe For a moment to let go of these terribly heavy strings---------------- A moment to wait, a moment to grief----------------------------------------- One moment is all my heart and I need
Though time is only seeming to hurry itself-------------------------------- Leaving me stumbling around dark corners to catch the light----- Before it too, becomes too quick for me------------------------------------- And i’ll be left in this aching cold and endless night
Left to seep into the dark hardwood floors--------------------------------- To scream out in agony behind double locked doors------------------ To let my blood be mistaken for a red wine stain----------------------- And time comes by again to erase my name
I’ll be forgotten, after being lost for a bit too long----------------------- Echoing in the empty walls is my favorite song-------------------------- Whispering neighbors argue over the instrument being played-- They’ll never know my secret, that I wait for the rain
That when pounding droplets smack the window panes------------- I, part of these walls, reach deep inside my veins----------------------- Rip out the source of love, rip out the source of pain------------------ And I hold it in these gentle hands, and I just it play
