Great Coffee

Poem

The early birds sing from the pines

The grass was blanketed in dew

Air was crisp, felt good against skin

Porch was perfect for our coffee

We pass a cigarette between yawns

.

You bite your lower lip, with half a grin

You looked shy, with innocence

"So about last night"  you smirked

I sipped my coffee with smile

I remember cicadas buzzing in rhythm

.

We sat there nursing our coffee some

You drank from your favorite mug

Pink with white polka dots, kind of basic

We talked about so many things

I laid my hand on yours, great coffee
