The Doublet of the Canine
I weep at night, the cold sweat awakens me.
I have not the capability to resist,
I have not the will to surrender.
The wolf that howls deep to the glistening moonlight calls a story of one.
A tragedy of enslavement to a plant of greed.
Four decades lost to the scent and smog.
Each song she howls, echoes into the next.
Her shadow sings loud, opposing her looks.
Her pale skin with glistening rivulets, the trails of tears as a mother mourns one lost,
The tragedy of her downfall, the understanding of her blunder.
Another story of the plant of greed,
Her family weeps, her family grieves.
I weep at night, the two wolves within me.
The despair wells in my stomach as my spirit recalls;
The 40 year old smoker,
And the 40 year old smoker.
