822a cameras all defective. No replacements. not impressed

PoE Camera Question

I have had this kit for less than a week and all four cameras fog up inside due to poor seal. I had bought one separately on Amazon and have had no issues.

I contacted warranty support and over 4 days they have given me the run around. I just want them to replace the faulty cameras and check their quality assurance.

If I don't get my replacements I will charge back with my credit card.

You should have gone through simple troubleshooting, even providing videos. What have you done?

They just swapped one of mine, no issues.

When you say they swapped one of yours, did you pay for the shipping back to them with the rma # first then they sent you replacement?

No, they shipped the replacement. I sent my defective one back in the box the new one came in on my dime.

Did that. Sent pics of condensation, pics of screen shots. The tech said it is normal for condensation to get in and to unscrew the camera shell and run it in side. No, condensation should not happen like this in an IP66 rated device.

So after trouble shooting I was told that they will get back to me to see if it is under warranty... even though I bought the system less than a week ago from their site.

Pull the definition of IP66 and reinforce your point. Basic L1 warranty folks likely will want to pushback at first chat. Betting they get an obscene amount of warranty issues from non-tech owners.

Same thing happened with mine. They replaced it and the second one fogged up as well.

Well lets just start by saying we are not Reolink employees, we are people here to help. "threats" mean absolutely nothing to us but instead do the opposite of what you want, drive help away.

So now that we have lowered our hate and rage....all 4? Did you check the micro SD card slot to ensure they are tight? Are we sure it's inside the lens? Can we have this picture proof? unscrew the camera shell, what do you mean, take the camera apart? let them dry out and see what happens.

While I agree there shouldn't be water inside we kinda just went 0 -100 here.

There are some reolink employees that scroll these boards. And what threats? Lol you mean me legally getting my money back? You are funny. 😆

My 822a fogged up as soon as I plugged it in. After leaving it running inside for a couple of days before installing, the fog cleared up completely and hasn't come returned. I have installed it outside now.

Very similar here - installed in the eaves and fogged up that night - raised a support case and it self resolved before they got back to me

They told me to take it apart and put some silicone packs in it 😂

My assumption is/was intense temperature change caused the condensation. The cameras run quite warm and was quite chilly when I installed the camera. Once at temperature the issue hasn’t returned

Yea, I'm glad that worked out for you. Just odd that you had to do such a process to remove the condensation. It should have worked out of the box. Hopefully it stays working

Good luck with a refund. Credit card companies and card issuers will rarely refund or reverse a transaction unless it was fraudulent. I have a number of different models of Riolink cameras around my property and I have had no such problems (even though the region where I live is experiencing unprecedented amounts of precipitation and humidity). I would be certain, as it has already been suggested, that you have failed to put one of the watertight seals back into place.

You mustn't have good CC. The company has to provide a service or good that is working. You initiate a charge back based on the email exchanges and pictures and the companies own policy. The cc will charge back the company has to reply and if they can't tell the CC company why they took no action to remedy the issue then the charge back will proceed. I have had to do this before.

As for your assumption about not placing thd seal back into place, this is absured. The camera should come sealed from factory. I don't use SD card, they are all POE to nvr. Lol again another comedian talking smak about fixing the crap that reolink has shipped out.

Dude, you literally said support was going to get back to you about it. So far you've done nothing to help yourself here. I tried to help you and you just did your thing.

They are sealed from factory. Did you check that? No? Yes? Keep it civil will you? If all you want to do is complain and accept no help this is the wrong place for you.

You don’t know what you’re talking about kid. I’ve worked in banking and digital fulfilment. A company like Reolink is worth more to them than you will ever be.

I’ve got 2 of these for several months. Both operate normally, with no issues. But each are I. Fairly well protected locations from direct weather
