I am the shoreline.

I sat in the dunes watching the sunrise with tired acid eyes.

That New England blue clashed with grapefruit smoke and brush strokes of indigo on the western horizon.

Assimilating with the sand and salt breeze, I began to think of her.

Eyes cast to the sea the same hue as her eyes.

I lick the salt spray from my lips like her rouge.

Steadfast yet helpless,

She lets her white capped dogs upon my flesh.

To take my body away deeper into hers.
