The Joyful

It’s not the smiling,
it’s the laughter
out loud with you.

It’s not the meditating,
it’s the quiet
I tend to find with you.

It’s not the swimming,
it’s the chills
I feel sitting next to you.

It’s not the cycling,
it’s the rhythm
I find pedaling with you.

It’s not the coffee,
okay — maybe it is too,
but it’s also the time
I get to chat and connect with you.

It’s not the walking,
as much the scenic views;
It’s also the moments
I get to share and cherish with you.

It’s not the lunches,
nor the fancy smoothy juice;
It’s the vegan bliss
I enjoy in every meal with you.

It’s not the music,
nor the bulky shady trees;
It’s the joyful vibe
of laying on the grass with you.

It’s not this poem,
nor what I could ever write;
It’s the happy feeling of
knowing that you’re happy too.
