A song of silence (Was titled by the one the poem was written for)

Silence all around

The sound of her soft breath fills my ears

Like a melody played by the wind behind my back

The silence breaks

She speaks

Like the sweet call of a morning bird

She smiles

Like the moon, sending a beam of light

Towards a dark abyss

She looks at me

Why? I don’t know

But when she does, I look into her deep brown eyes

Her eyes contain everything I desire

Her eyes are where I find peace

Her eyes are where I find comfort

And her eyes are where I find… love

I could rest in them for all eternity

With peace in my mind

Comfort in my soul

And love in my heart

Lit up or dark

When her eyes light up with joy

And when they lose their spark

I would be there

The illusion shatters

I’m pulled away

I fall back into the darkness

With silence all around
