The Turning
The leaves are falling off
the turning, holocost
the money its inflating
cant imagine what it costs
the time of abundance,
the time of phrophets,
all is falling off.
the dry parts on fire,
the other parts flooding
the tides of the ocean turn
pull up the soil, see its mudding
although we watch the world turn
plant the seeds and hope they're budding,
not yet, no. and not even soon,
the third war lingers
and the armies smell doom
there was a time of great awakening,
a time of great triumph
and now come the colder times,
a time of great trial.
no longer care for politics,
instead we'll talk survival
and although all roads end,
we cant really know the miles.
a long long tunnel, we cant even see light
we just keep on walking, hoping we might.
a lot of us dont, a lot of us wont.
but humanity keeps walking, even as most turn bone
from the ashes, may rise anew,
but we can never see the end.
old world must burn, whats left must blend
good men must die, but all men have sinned
and from their sacrifice, we may just win.
a long storm is coming, we can only hope to weather
the healing fires, hopefully make better
the angers of many, may lead to indifference of all
the screaming of many, from a distance, plays a song
and from that song, a new world based
on lessons of old that we try to face
the only hope a single man has
is in the light of grace
Inspired by the fourth turning, and the crises we face all across the world, growing exponentially. First poem I've wrote in many years although I do write some songs. Happy to see what you guys think
