r/AbsoluteUnits material right here.
That reminds me; what Super-Bonker doing?
Boom?
You can see the projectile? Or is that wadding?
Yes, that is the projectile.
I just love these big guys. I was surprised to see that even though they are 34 year old Soviet tech they are still producing them. There is a new variant too, with faster deployment and withdrawal time.
Is the super bonker still bonkin'?
8” artillery, we haven’t had that in the US military since we replaced them with MLRS at the corps level

You can actually see the round leaving the barrel
Who’s your daddy?
The ultimate Yeet Cannon.
Bonk!
I suggest everyone read a little about this big boy: 2S7 Pion
That's pretty badass. But in the digital age, if you knew where they were aiming, someone could just call/msg ahead and they'd have over five minutes to get to safety?
The rounds have more than 5 minutes travel time at that speed? I almost cant believe that..
I'm not going to do the trig, but you can figure it out from the published muzzle velocity of 960m/s if you know the angle.
No way it's 5 minutes, but I'm not going to work it out. It's a projectile - you can do the math.
Somewhat ironic that they may have been purchased from Russia many years ago.
More.likeky inherited from the Soviet union I imagine
