original PS2 disgaea vs greatest hits release

does anyone know if the original game on PS2 has any different versions floating around? I'm trying to figure out if the greatest hits version has any updates over the original version.

The greatest hits version might not have The Invasion From Within by Tsunami Bomb. Besides that they should be the same.

It does have that song.

that song is in the GH version. its hard tracking down games versions so many are undocumented. new presses of games would routinely have patches, minor bug fixes or DLC and other minor things like that.

I honestly think that they are the exact same version, unless if they tried to fix some bugs & glitches that were on the original copy (The "Now Loading" loop as an example).

The Greatest Hits version is identical (including having the same bugs) to the original in terms of gameplay and content. The only real difference is that the GH has the red top with a black spine over the og's black top on a white spine for the case. The GH manual also has an ad for D2 and D3 on the back.

If the Greatest Hits version had a PAL version, that would've been the biggest difference: PAL Disgaea 1 was a blue disc cd, while the timing for the GH version wouldve made it a DVD. But the GH version was NA-only.

Just to add for anyone else reading this on why this is significant: The PAL PS2 Release cut out the JP-Voicetrack to fit on a CD. With how a Game being Dual Audio in the first place wasn't exactly Mainstream just yet at that time, it's actually a pretty big difference.
