Best OS for stealth pistol / gunslinger build

Discussion

I started this current character as a stealth pistol and intelligence build. Early game quick hacks helped me be able to take out enemies when my guns weren’t strong enough to one tap them with head shots. My original plan was to avoid combat quick hacks and focus on control/stealth quick hacks. I.e. whistle, ping, reboot optics, etc. but no short circuit.

However as I’ve gotten stronger guns and more perks within reflex and the cool trees I’m finding I don’t need any quick hacks to take out enemies or remain undetected.

Most encounters boil down to me just using my stealth pistol. I don’t find that I need to use reboot optics, whistle, takedowns, hide bodies, etc.

In an effort to make the character less binary than sitting crouched and clicking peoples heads I’m wondering if I should either:

  1. dive deeper on the damage side of quick hacks since the covert ones seem unnecessary to complete missions undetected.

  2. respec using a mod, ditch the cyber deck completely in favor of a sandevistan. And put those excess points into crafting/body/cold blood and make more of a guns blazing gunslinger who can also stealth.

Does anyone here have any thoughts or advice?

Current stats on the character I was testing are:

11 body 14 reflex 14 cool 10 intellligence

And

11 body 14 reflex 14 cool 10 tech

So there are two legendary quickhacks you can get that will end an opponent and one of them is awesome for stealth.

System reset with the legendary cyberdeck that lets you use it twice coupled with suicide will give you the ability to quickly take out guards without raising a finger. I like to run that with the personal cloaking device. It's a good time.

Generally you don't need* the intelligence, but I love it for the dialogue options and not feeling like a clack clack blap blap dumb dumb. The daemons help our a lot too.

As a rule, a cyberdeck is the best combo with a stealth build. It's not just the quickhacks; one of, if not the, major benefit to a cyberdeck that you lose with a Sandevistan is the ability to remote turn off cameras or control them to spot your enemies. There's a bit of care required once you start getting legendary quickhacks, because there's a couple of them that have passives that automatically alert enemies. But if you're running a dedicated stealth build, that's an advantage of the cyberdeck that you categorically don't want to lose.

Now, the best cyberdeck to use, since you're primarily crowd-controlling and then sniping people off with a silenced revolver, is either the Netwatch Netdriver or the Raventech Microcyber. Most people say the Tetratronic Rippler, and that will certainly work really well, but it's more of a combat cyberdeck. For a pure stealth build, you want to max out RAM recovery and minimize potential damage from other netrunners, however paltry those tend to be. That means the Netwatch Netdriver, which boosts RAM recovery out the wazoo, and the Raventech Microcyber, which has almost as much RAM recovery and doubles enemy quickhack download time, are optimal.
