A Funny Feeling
She is my ever-waking dream,
Coming to me as I drift into that sandy ether
Appearing as a love supreme
She looms above, the rest beneath her.
And I know that it can get rough
The pain of love, its own work of art
Time without her has made me tough
Time within her, the easiest part
Morpheus grants me time to feel it
That although I’ve known so many Lolas
I still keep that picture, so that I can see us
In that place with the world below us
There’s an uncanny rhythm to the ways that we feel it
It can be a boat that we try not to rock
Or maybe a jar, when you just can’t seal it
Perhaps it’s the door where there’s no need to knock
EDIT: I edited to the poem. Different choices of words and an entirely new quatrain. The third quatrain is the newest addition.
