the spores are 100% legal. it only becomes illegal once you actually cultivate the mushrooms. so obtaining it is not hard, it can just go through the mail. but don't get caught growing. possessing any amount of shrooms in texas can be a felony offense, and I imagine getting caught growing is worse. but it is not easy to get caught unless you're stupid

there are plenty of them. I reccomend uncleben's as it is beginner friendly. I also reccomend PhillyGoldenTeacher on YouTube, he has loads of useful information, and a tek that is super cheap

Everything you need you can buy legally. Look up Boomer Shroom on YT. Sanitation and Sterilization is going to be hugely important. It’s easy to contaminate the process. APE is stronger but it’s more challenging to grow because the process takes much longer than GT, leaving room for you to contaminate. Those zip prices are high. You could grow more than a zip with half the price of what they are charging you.

Meh... If you are a casual user a couple times a year just pay the $30-50 per 3.5g and call it a day... How much do you spend on a Wednesday at happy hour for beers? $50? All relative. I've brewed and I don't anymore because the $25 12 packs of IPAs from the store are better and easy... Now if you have the passion or the desire... Those are all different things

They're pretty high. If you are in a metropolitan area it's too much. An 8th should be $20-30, n an ounce really shouldn't be more than $150. I get mine for about $120

Prices vary from place to place, and if you don't have other options, hearing that's its cheaper in another state is pretty useless to you.
The real question is; have you had mushrooms before? What is the experience worth for you? I think if you haven't had a mushroom trip, 40 bucks isn't crazy for an eighth, since that's plenty for a solid trip (maybe 2 depending on potency and your sensitivity), and as a new experience: Worth it.
If you have already experienced mushrooms before and want to have a good time regularly- then the price might be a little steep, unless you can afford it and don't want to grow.
After all, anyone can brew their own beer- and yet we all still buy it. Some people just want to trip and not farm.
But if you're trying to save money and you're patient you should grow.
