Something that bothers me about the Silent Hill 2 Remake

Is that they didnt even bother with the first Silent Hill game for the ps1. Not only is it weird to start out (and finish, really, as Im damn sure they wont touch 3) with 2 and call it 2, not even "Silent Hill: [Insert Subtitle]" its also tacitally admiting that SH1 is undeserving of attention. And it should get more attention and love, it just rubs me the wrong way

The creators straight-up admitted the remake exists just as a tie-in game to the film, which is adapting the second game since the first game already got one.

I never thought about this before, but in hindsight, it's really, really weird they made movies about 1 and 3 while skipping 2. Although the Alyssa to Heather storyline makes sense to do it that way.

because SH2 remake is a movie game. They are making a SH2 movie and that's the only reason they are remaking SH2.

I feel 2 is the best one since its standalone, and also its the best one. If they do silent hill 1 i would want 3 to be followed up next since they are a connected story or maybe have silent hill 1 be a prequel section in 3 remake.

ngl it's weirder to me that the first Silent Hill game wasn't included in the HD Collection at all, but knowing Konami they likely lost the source code for it.

They could have still bundled it in with an emulator. Hell the ps3 could already play the game with its built in one.

Like they did with MGS1 in the legacy collection, a code for the PSN classic.

Silent Hill did get a "remake" of sorts in Shattered Memories. And it was indeed, a "Silent Hill: [Insert Subtitle]" deal.

Now you mention it, I'd love a remaster - heck, even just a port - of Shattered Memories. I played it on a whim on PSP way back when, and it blew me away.
